The true flag of England

For all you flag of St.George wavers, this is the real flag of England.

If memory serves me correctly, the choosing of St.George was influenced by the Crusades and a little bit of French persuasion methinks around the end of the eleventh century. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

St.Edmund the Martyr was our boy during the good old Anglo-Saxon days pre William the Conk.

So forget cheering on that foreign imposter George and raise the cry for that good old Anglo-Saxon and true Englishman Eddie the Martyr. It's got a better ring to it as well, hasn't it?

No more red cross, bring on the White Dragon for the lads.

indeed, and george happens to be the patron saint of a host of other varied places. apart from being a johnny foreigner from turkey. hmm, i wonder if he was a kebab fan for starters.

i reckon the reason the dragon was dropped as not to confuse ordinary folk with the welsh perhaps?

I'm sticking with good ol' Edmund from now on.

You can spot a Welshman a mile off. He has daffodils coming out of his ears and a fondness for wellies ;-)

It's a good thing you're not this side of Offa's Dyke saying that, Krip! ;)

Bluddyell Krip - we've only just got em used to waving a St George's Flag instead of a Union Flag. This'll confuse the buggers.

Sorry birdman but I am just anti everything with the slightest French connection.
