Uurrgghh......

Today I am sick. Yesterday was my fifty second birthday and it was spent feeling miserable and cantankerous (ask Mrs K).

I had a bit of a sore throat on Saturday night, although that did not stop me visiting my local drinking establishment in an attempt to sooth it. Well, that is my excuse and I am sticking to it. Aches and pains quickly followed and the rest I am sure everyone is familiar with. Basically, I feel like shit.

Is it just me, or does everybody start slowly wearing out upon reaching their half century? The tally up till now is, I cannot smell or taste to any great effect, glasses are a necessity if I want to read anything and last week, I had to have the old lug'oles syringed 'cos I had gone deaf in one ear. I am slowly, piece by piece, falling apart.

'Senior moments' are becoming a regular occurrence. You know what I mean. Going up stairs for example and then wondering why you went up there in the first place. Yes, you've been there as well haven't you dear reader?

Or alternatively, whilst doing the local shop, not remembering where the hell you parked the car in the car park and looking suspiciously like some aged car thief peering down all the rows desperately trying to recall where the trusty old steed was.

Life after fifty. 'Aint it grand.

I can certainly identify with the 'where did I leave my car?' syndrome. I often have cause to be thankful that my car has the name of our shop emblazoned on its side! This age thing - it just ain't good!

What a great idea. I could emblazon my name in big white letters on the side. Unfortunately, dementia is surely the next step and I would forget my name ;)

well, how about suddenly remembering that i need to bring along something whilst walking out of the room and then turning back to collect whatever that something is, and then upon entering room forgetting what it is that i supposed to collect.

and half century is some 12 years down the road! regardless, a belated happy b-day krip :)

I hadn't realised I was meant to wait until I was 50 for this to happen! Or maybe it will just get worse come Decenber!
