This paranoid country

I did enjoy reading the article penned by Mark Steyn in today's Telegraph.

He sums up better than I can the gradual degeneration of our society. Mainly caused, in my opinion, by the media itself.

I do particularly like the reference to the Cross of St.George and the Crusades.

The thing about all the effort that goes in to banning things because they might cause offence is that the people they're trying to shelter couldn't give a toss. The newsagent near where I work is run by Muslims and they have a huge Cross of St George flag hung above the counter. And they'll be cheering on England tonight.

It's worth reading the Daily Ablution on this subject.

Good point shooting parrots.

I think it is a wild exaggeration to believe England is somehow degenerating because a tory controlled council (out of the many across the land) have like crackpots decided to ban Piglet. (If true that is). So we jump from that to 'the day the House of Lords gives a second reading to the Sharia Bill'

lol - there have always been crackpot stories and stupid PC bans for many many years now. It does mean society will sudden fall into ruin.
